The Cape Studio

Brand Identity · System Design

The Cape Studio is an art-led studio-brand where the paintings come first. Marco Vinante’s works set the language, the tone and the choices, and everything else, objects and clothing, follows as a translated extension of that world rather than a print of it. The studio works by reduction: what adds noise goes, what holds stays.

We designed the full brand identity and the system that carries it. A strict black and white world, Carbon Black and Salt Paper White, keeps the work clean and readable, with a single Signal Coral accent reserved for function, never for decoration and never on the mark. The logomark leads, and the identity is built to stay consistent while the art keeps evolving.

At the heart of it sits a glyph alphabet. We extracted the glyphs from Marco’s own drawings and turned them into a modular system, refining and adapting each one for screen and production: a private language of marks that extends the studio across products, packaging and interfaces.

Together with Marco we also shaped the studio’s strategy, keeping the paintings at the centre and letting products grow out of them as designed extensions. The result is a studio language built to hold over time, quiet, disciplined, and led by the work.
