For the release of his album “Virus”, Noyz Narcos built a merch collection inspired by its aesthetic. Within it, we were asked to design a single hero object: a pair of sunglasses that could carry the album’s world on the body.
The brief pointed to an icon: the classic 90s Locs, reimagined for now. We wanted to keep the unmistakable attitude of that silhouette, its controlled, street-rooted presence, while refining it into something contemporary and wearable. The result is “Proto-01”, a confident acetate frame with dark green lenses, its shape tuned to feel both familiar and new.
Detailing is where the piece earns its place. The “Virus” album logo sits engraved on the outside of the temple, while the inside carries the classic hidden engraving, the same technique used to sign a frame from within. We developed and produced it with Eugenio, a Lombard artisan known for small, exacting runs.
Released as a limited edition of 100 pieces, Proto-01 sold out in two hours, turning a piece of album merch into a genuinely collectible object.
